Mohammad Khdour
WHAT HAPPENED
Mohammad Ahmed Khdour, a 17-year-old U.S. citizen born in Florida, was fatally shot on February 10, 2024, while in a car with his cousin near the town of Biddu, northwest of Jerusalem in the occupied West Bank; he died hours later at a hospital in Ramallah. Defense for Children International - Palestine reported he was shot in the head by Israeli forces, while his family said the gunfire came from a vehicle with an Israeli license plate and that they believed the shooter was an Israeli settler; the Israeli military referred questions to the Shin Bet security service. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken called for an investigation, U.S. investigators visited the family, and as of late 2024 an Israeli investigation was reportedly ongoing with no suspect arrested.
